Default Forum Etiquette

I'm disappointed that the forum moderators are allowing some to get away with indecency such as the avatars in the topic below. I would like to know if this is officially acceptable by those in charge of the forum, or if it is an oversight that will be corrected. Thanks.

What is indecent about them? I am not offended nor do I take any exception! Isn't it about lunchtime?

The point is not that it offends everyone. Some have been brought up without a proper understanding of professionalism or morality that even "non-religious" businesses and organizations in todays society uphold. But I'm sure the majority of parents and also women would find it inappropriate for such content on this forum if it were being read by their own children or family members.

I was under the impression that this site is dedicated to furthering the RC community. I would hope that it is not a site for promoting pornography, which the avatars I am bringing into question clearly do.

Again, I am requesting a response from the forum officials on whether this type of content is officially acceptable or not.

Futurereal had a post stuck ont he top of the forum for a while discussing the use of Avatar's such as the ones you're discussing.

I suggest making a direct complaint to a forum moderator or administrator with the name of the user with the avatar you find questionable and they will investigate.

Well I will just chime in here...
I don't see where RC and girls rubbing there breasts have any corilation nor would a inimae(spelling) of girl swaying her breasts back and forth have to do with RC.
If I had a 12 year old son that I have taught that a women is to be respected as if she were your mother or sister and not to be looked at as some sex object than yes him seeing this(sexualy charged avitars) as he is trying to learn more about the advantages of a spool can do damage to my son. SO yes I would like them(avitars) to be RC related and not to contain half naked women or be sexually charged.
That is my two cents...
Shane is trying to do his best as he believes this site is a family site.
Yes report the avitar to the moderators. They should convae this information to Shane/futureal.

Anyone can be added to your ignore list. It will show that they made a post, but it won't show their avatar or what they posted.

YEs that is true but I don't have time to go through every forum and ignore them....especially if there are rules against them. Just trying to uphold a standard of the rules not asking to stop looking at porn...they have the right to do what is right in there own eyes but they do not have the right to pollute a childs. Imagine that your 8 year daughter walked in while your reading a post and ask daddy why is that girl rubbing her boobies? Yea ask yoruself that question.

I'm not making the complaint for my benefit only. I'm making it for the benefit of other parents, women and men that are also offended by this content, but will have to see it before they can do anything about it.

Stop splitting hairs and call it as it really is.

I have lodged a formal complaint concerning the avatars used by rbboy and Marcel in the R/C Tech Site Forum.

There are lot of things that would be more offending to me. There are other parts that could be moving/rubbing. I don't think any kid will be emotionally scarred for life seeing these Avatars. I think no kid would think these avatars abnormal in any way if grown ups wouldn't blow it out of proportion. Normal kid should just think, it he notices the avatar at all. "It's this strange guys avatar, It's not cool and I'm not gonna do it myself". I believe kids shouldn't be overprotected. We should teach kids to think. Not just obey what you tell them without question. Obeying without question is the way terrorists work. It's just very small pictures with limited movement. I even applaud the artistry behind them. It's hard making avatars that have no beginning or end. Having said that, since some people are offended I think the persons behind them should voluntarily remove them.

Have you tried pm these persons and politely ask them to remove the avatars?

If you want to see the world in the color pink, is it best to paint everything pink or to simply put on some pink-tinted glasses?

I agree. Tell them to paint their offensive avatars, that violate the forum rules, on the their own glasses/monitors/walls and keep them off the forum.

Though he doesn't agree with the avatar being offensive, and he is removing it only in order to put an end to this discussion, I have to publicly commend Marcel for his decision. I appreciate it. Thanks.
