This setup has worked great for Justin on all the tracks we have raced on. The most important thing is to pay attention to detail. The smallest things will throw the handling way off. Make sure the truck rolls freely with the servo centered and radio on (No drag brake) and that the throttle is completely closed.

Will the Matrix buggy hexes work?

We used the 17mm wheel hubs/Hexes (MX043) from the Matrix Buggy. We also used the rear axle from the buggy (MX093) for the rear of the truck, no shimming. You will also need some 8mm shims (KYO96046) Kyosho shims kit 8x10. Shim the inside of the axle between the axle and the back of the inner bearing. That way it will push the dogbones into the outdrive more and stop any problems with the dogbones coming out. If you use the buggy axles on the rear you will need some 3x4mm set screws. The TR axles take a 5x5 set screw. Don't forget the wheel nuts. I had some Jammin nuts but they didn't fit.

17mm hexes are lighter weight than the 23mm ones.
Plus its alot easier to find 17mm truggy wheels on hobby shop shelves, you can use brands other than Proline.

There are several 17mm hexes that will work.
Mugen, TTR and even Losi.
The CEN hexes are a little more expensive.

Does anyone else have problems with their brake levers binding when the servo pushes and pulls? It seams like the lever and the guide stick.

Any helpful tips?

The only time I had them stick was actually the throttle/brake linkage was bent so it really was hard to push or pull the brakes off and on.

Congrats! That looks like a very well groomed track. I have never seen a grass track before. We have a "No green" rule at our track. I thought our pit lane was pretty nice, but that is definatly just a bit nicer
