I just picked up the standard 07 spec Sphere--I mounted it on my Bj4 with the heatsink and a vector 6.5. I was thinking of the TC-but the only differences are: 12 awg wire instead of 13 awg
slightly lower voltage drop
Able to run 3.0 and 3.5 turn motors
comes with fan
Capacitor might be larger?

The programming is 100% identical to the 07 spec--so it won't hurt anything--and if you ever want to run 3 or 3.5 turn motors you are better off with the TC. Also, if you are running in 100 degree heat and feel you need the fan--getting the TC is cheaper than spending the $25 for the World option kit for the 07. I don't regret my 07 purchase at all though. Haven't ran it yet but have seen other run. Awesome ESC--can't go wrong either way.

I am running my bj4 at a small to medium indoor track (LIR) where alot of guys run 7.5s in 4wd mod. Running a 6.5 is even running the heatsink necessary? Track isn't heated --so if its 40 outside, it might be 50 inside. Do most guys not install the heatsink?

I originally heard that the TC had different setups in it than the 07 spec, but if you download the instructions for both escs, they show the exact same setups--8 brushless punch modes, 6 initial brake modes, 6 drag brake modes and Li-po cut-off or ni-mh setting. They also both have the ability to show max. temp attained on the esc and a full current "launch mode"--hold down the brake for 5 seconds before start of race. Unless I am missing something I don't see a difference.

I heard that the TC Spec has better brakes than the 2007 Sphere Comp, but I can't confirm that because I don't have a TC Spec. The major difference between the two speedos is that the heatsink on the TC Spec is mounted directly to the FET's, which means there's less of a chance that the blue smoke will escape. I'd try one out, but I'm happy with my 2006 & 2007 Comps.
