XXX-NT AD1 Modifications
There doesn't seem to be that much information on this truck anywhere.
What would you guys recommend in terms of setup, gearing, hop-ups?
Is it worth it to put it to AD2 status if I'm not racing?
Thanks,
Torque

The only thing I would suggest is using the AD2 rear pivot block. It's much more durable and has 4 degrees of toe in rather than 3. Helps a lot to keep the truck straight under power. Other than that, its really not worth a complete conversion to AD2. For that you need new arms, hubs, drive shafts, shock tower, front arms, spindles, caster blocks, and axles. Then you need all new wheels as well. It's a lot of money and any performance benefit is nominal. Both versions can be set up to the standard "Dirt" setup which I rarely stray from so any other options aren't really needed.

Can I use the stock rear a-arms with the new bulkhead?

The rear bulkheads are interchangable. The only difference is the amount of toe in and the ad2 has the center support to make it stronger.

The only other thing you may want to do is replace the rear shock tower with the plastic rtr one and replace the ball cups on the rear turnbuckles w/ mugen captured ends. The rear pivot is a weakness as well. The softer shock tower will help to absorb blows when the truck takes uneven landings.
