Transmission Gear Ratio
This is the final ratio of the whole transmission from input shaft to output shaft, which includes all the internal gears. The result should be a number larger than 1.
If your vehicle does not use a transmission, enter 1 here. If your vehicle uses a center differential, this ratio will be part of the spur/pinion ratio and you should enter 1 here.
Open the dropdown list to select some popular preset values. This will automatically fill in the correct value for that transmission.

I'm currently running a 43T Spur and a 15T Pinion on a 2650 with 4s and it's pretty much overkill on most tracks, so if you went with a 15 or 16T pinion you should be fine. It really depends on what you're looking to do though. if you're looking to extend run time to make a 20 min main, I'd suggest going down to about an 11 or 12T pinion as well as increasing the spur size to get the most run time possible. If you're practicing on a track or have 5-10 min mains (you should get about 15+ min of run time if you're driving hard), then try out around a 15 or 16T pinion. If you're just bashing and enjoy doing some high speed runs, then try out an 18 or 19T. With the 2200 you wont have to worry about heat issues, so go out and enjoy! I hope that helps.
i got the mamba today.. it came with an 18pinion.
ill put it in for now but i think ill order a 13 or 14 to try on the track

what brand pinions would be recommended?
i just put on the 18pinion that came w/ the 2200 castle and its teeth seem larger than the teeth on the spur.
i have not yet run the buggy as i dont have a servo yet
these are bad pictures.. not sure if you can actually see it
actually in the second pic, i see plastic shavings from the spur on the chassis.
doesnt seem right

I have tried a few brands, including Castle, and really like the Hot Bodies. They are cut VERY well and are really quiet on the Losi spur. I want to try the Robinson Racing Mod 1 some day but Hoopty Buckets, I am sorry, Hot Bodies have been the ticket for me and a few others around here . . .
From the looks of the picture you have a Mod 0.8 pinion--you will want a Mod 1 size!

I have run the robinson and the losi and both work great. The losi's have a reputation for not staying on the shaft but that was due to an old design with a small set screw. The new ones with the larger set screw work great and you can never go wrong with having the spur and pinion come from the same company. Just make sure you get a large set screw if you can.

for sure buddy, Ill be thinking up somethign new to try on the next run of body's...Nitro buggy's a little beat, But that always seems to be the one that goes first. (That's it, Next time we'll do X2 on the nitro bug)
