You should not see more than 4900 mah go back into the pack. Yes you can run and charge and run and charge all day long.
You should charge at 4.9 amps.

The only way a 4900 mah lipo would take more than 4900 Mah is if the cell(s) went bad or if the charger was not set up correcctly. Thats because you should never ever completely discharge a Lipo.

You can charge your lipo a few days before a race and put it on the track without re-peaking it with virtually no loss of performance. And you can start re-charging the battery as soon as you pull your vehicle off the track. They actually charge better when they are warm.

Sorry, I have no exerpience with that charger.

On my Flightpower 4s 4270mah pack, about 4900mah went back into it. It seems normal to me, as in it still works perfectly (although it was the first time I charged the pack since it is brand new)... The cutoff is at 12 volts, and I ran the whole pack.

If you using a Hyperion charger make sure you set it up for 2 cell lipo and that you only put in 4900 mah for the battery size. The charger will take care of the rest once you start to charge. I use Hyperion chargers and they work great.

Just make sure you set at:

2 cell, lipo setting, 4900 mah and your good to go.

Even if it only went to 4900 you should be worried because that means it was discharged to ZERO! That would not be good.

Do you have a Lipo cutoff on your esc? Not having one could be the source of your problem.

Sounds like your battery might be a dud.
