Alright so I know this has been talked to death but I cant seem to find the answer. Regarding motor and ESC Im seeing that a lot of people are running truggy motors. My concern is space. I've seen several pics of truggy sized motors with Tekin RX8 ESCs but with very little room to spare but I do know that works.
I already have a Hobbywing XR8 plus which is quite a bit larger than the Tekin ESC 38x55.8x35.5mm (Tekin) versus 58.7x48x36.9mm (Hobbywing) to be exact. The motor im looking at is the Tekin Gen 2 4038 2000kv truggy motor. The can is 77mm long. Detailed specs aside, is anyone running one of these large truggy motors with the HW XR8 plus ESC?
I'm not completely sold on the truggy sized motor. I'll be using Badlands 3.8s (not the MX huge ones). I know the truggy motor will run cooler but I'm not sure it'd be necessary. Anyone having thermal issues running HW or tekin buggy motors in the 1900-2000kv range? I race my EB48.3 with a tekin 1900kv buggy motor and the HW XR8 Plus geared 44/19 and see temps around 140-150f on a hot day after 10-15 minutes of hard driven track time. Just not sure if the larger tires will push me over the edge and of course I can always gear down a bit. Oh and btw, i'll only be running on 4s.
Please help me decide

I run the XR8+ and the G2 4274. I chose this combo specifically due to where the sensor wire comes out being on top of the can vs in the center. It gave me a little wiggle room and I have a C hair left for a little Chassis flex.
I doubt you will be able to run a Truggy motor at 77mm plus the sensor wire but could be totally wrong.
If geared correctly, running a low kV and not running heavy MT tires a buggy motor would be just fine IMO.

The overall problem with measurements of the motors is that they never include what the sensor wire takes up. Figure 3mm for that.

Agree. I ran the XR8 Plus with the Tekin 2000 truggy motor in my ET48.3. It’ll fit with the sensor, but there’s virtually no room for chassis flex and I destroyed 2 sensor wires quickly before I gave up and switched to the XR8 SCT Plus for its smaller footprint. It runs my truggy perfectly on 4S and I used the same ESC in my MT410 with a Hobbystar 74mm 2000kv motor. Only problem with the SCT - can’t run 6S.
What are your plans with the MT410?. 4S with some turbo timing and punch control is pretty GD fast, agile etc. I plan to try 5S this winter but don't see a need to go 6S. You didn't hear it from me but 6S I think would over power this little 1/8 scale chassis. I can agree it would be fun to try and control it.

Good info for how much room there isn't even in a long Truggy chassis.

Just checked. The Promodeler will fit. You can see in the picture that all the holes in the aluminum mount line up with the servo. I didn’t pull out the entire servo because there’s not enough slack in the wire(I didn’t want to remove the esc and open up the receiver box to completely put the servo in place) ...but it’ll fit.

Hello,
next week my new Tekno MT410 arrive. I want to drive 4s and with the Proline Badlands.
Now I have to decide which engine I put in the car.
I still have a Xerun Combo XR8 plus with 2250 kV engine lying here. Is the engine recommended? Which pinion / main gear should I choose for a good setup then?
Otherwise, I would be glad about your feedback, which engines / kV you drive!
What is your pinion setup?
Thanks

Got my Tekin combo installed and ran a couple 6s packs threw it. Glad i took pictures before i took it bashing. The body took some damage. No cracks or breaks but scraped up to hell...

Need some reassurance here if someone can chime in. Anyone who has a SCT410.3 and a MT410 may be able to confirm this for me.
I took a bit of a gamble last night and painted my new body (proline 2017 Raptor) before my actual kit arrived. Since the MT uses the same chassis and body post I used my SCT to mark and ream the body post holes. I know the shock towers are larger from the ET but all that should do is raise the body. The bumpers and virtually everything, at least by my logic should line up perfectly. Can anyone ease my mind here? Check your MT body against your SCT410.3 and see if the holes line up?
Tekno provides a few different body post in their kits for fitment options on different bodies so I know that if you dont use the same post the holes will not line up. I just need someone to ease my anxious mind lol. Only did because im quite sure it will match but still worried that I made a mistake.
Thank you in advance

I like where you mounted the receiver. I think based on yours I am going to move mine from the suggested location to where yours is.
