WOO HOO!
This past weekend's Novarossi Cup event saw the Protoform R5-N body in use (at a large race) for the first time. Needless to say the results were most gratifying. It was THE dominant body in the Sedan ranks.
Mike Swauger - TQ
Darin Ishitani - WINNER A-main
Scott Kimbrow - 2nd place A-main
Marco Acosta - 3rd place A-main
(all used the R5 - Nitro body)
BIG CONGRATS to Mugen's Mike Swauger and Darin Ishitani! There were 7 (or possibly more) R5-N's in the A-main.
THANKS to all you guys who gave it a try - it's still pretty new and un-proven. Much appreciated!
sohlman:
The R5-N was engraved with the EFRA number the same day that they issued it to us. The body is ROAR and EFRA approved.
The bodies that were sold before we recieved the EFRA number will be legal at ROAR events. Any EFRA event will require the engraved EFRA number in the windshield.
The WORLDS event in Houston will allow any body that's included on a "Worlds Approved" list. This list will be released later in the year. If any body is on that list - which the R5-N surely will be - it's my understanding that the ROAR (or FAMAR, FEMCA, EFRA) number will be all that's required.
Thanks for your support!
Best regards - Dale Epp - Protoform

I know Darin and Marco used the protoform suggested cut lines with marco going a little past the lines in the side window.....
I did the same as marco on the side window but I just cut a circle on the rear window... Maybe that's why I didn't podium...lol
Body worked great Dale!
Congrats to Protoform on a great outing... Mike also TQ'd the event with the R-5 but did not run the sedan main...

I ran the stratus and the R5-N back to back during practice and qualifying at the Novarossi challenge. The R5-N basically transformed the car, made it more responsive, gave it more steering, and corner speed. It wasn't as planted in the rear as the stratus on power, but It was that much quicker that it was worth it to just adjust my driving style. The body works great

So how do you have fuel stops when cutting the rear window shown by Protoform?
#69
I didnt mean front of the body.
I mean some of the guys attach a tie so the rear shock tower, some of the guys directly lift the tank cap... etc.
