I almost fill it. Add some, assemble the diff and try turning it. If it gets easier to turn after a few revolutions, you need to add more.

I added putty, closed the diff and rotated it to spread it around, reopened and added more. Probably did that 3 times until it was very full.

front diff using putty and mix abit with silicone oil (correct me if im wrong)
or just using thicker gear oil such as 200k and above...

for rear diff...?
in my track,their using 500 to 1200...
i just want to know,what is the diff when using thicker oil at rear...?

Putty is considerably heavier than even 500,000cst oil.

Rear diff, 500cst-2,000cst depending on the track, tires, and conditions.

Generally, thicker is for high traction.

Just bought a used tc6.2 that came with a front diff, it has 2.5 million weight oil in it based on the sellers comments to me. His advice was to use it on a high traction track, otherwise the spool may be a better way to go.

I've just set the car up with electronics and will give it some track time on Saturday, if I have anything to add I'll revisit this thread.

I tried 500,000 with foams and it gave a lot of steering, way too much to drive a consistent race.

I am on 50,000 now and its a comfortable amount.
