epowr, there is more to "Punch" then just a spring setting, though that is important as well. Gearing, two speed set-up, tuning, motor and other things all come into play as well. For instance, the Flash isn't quite as punchy as the 35+21 so getting everything spot on is even more critical.
My current clutch set-up for a Mugen 3 shoe.
Lightened flyweights slightly by cutting some material from the inside of each shoe. Most people just drill a whole in them, does the same thing.
Orion CRF spring. Set to .9mm from end of threads to face of the nut. Adjust as needed. I often go to 1.0mm or even more if I need more snap.
Yellow shoe.
At least a .6mm gap from shoe to bell. Sometimes go to .7mm. This was often too much for the old 4 shoe clutch but the 3 shoe can take it. In my opinion, this is one of the most critical settings.
Then space the inside of the bell to take most, but not all of the free play out.

Hi there,
I have two servos here. Futaba BLS451 and BLS452. The 452 has a bit more torque and the 451 is a hair faster. Which one would you put on the steering?
Yes, I could simply try both on the steering but would like to hear your thoughts anyway...

For serious racing for sure on the steer it is too slow. I went from 0.1 sec to 0.07 sec servo's and I noticed the gain in speed in a better stering response and better positioning of the car.
On throttle it will work but a faster servo can make a difference in a crash or right time braking.

The BL452 is with .14 sec slow. The 451 is with 0.1 sec the right choice for a good response and the 10kg is enough, even for an 1/8 scale car.
Currently I run Savox 1257 servo's, they are also 10kg and have no issues with them.

Me personally, I would run the faster one on throttle. I can deal with a slowish steering servo (prefer a bit quicker but can deal with it) but a slow throttle servo drives me nuts.

This whole servo conversation makes me wonder how fast is fast enough. I can't turn my steering wheel from lock-to-lock more than about 5 times per second, so isn't any servo that is faster than 0.2 seconds fast enough? If I can't trun the wheel quicker than .2 seconds, why do I need a servo that's faster than me?

I would stick with 451...( ill put in my motonica soon)

But fastest servo doesnt means better steering...(i think)
