I have an XRAY 808 2010 spec what would be the best radio system under $350 and servo's under $70

For radio pick one of their lower models futaba, airtronics (KO gets left out due to price) and for the servos you need to spend a little more in the $90-100 range then savox 1268 fits the bill.

The savox 1256 and 1258's fit your servo budget have worked well for me. Down side, not high voltage. On that note, I've had good luck with protek life receiver pack also....

chose any good brand radio, personaly i use dx3r PRO, but will be getting a high end KO sometime soon.

Servos: lower budget: SAvox 1256tg(steering) and savox 1258tg(throttle)
a Life reciever pack.

if you want to move into the higher end of things and use lipo look at the high end Hitec, Futaba, SANWA(AIRTRONICS) , KO RSX, or HIGHEST-RC.
i use HIGHEST-RC servos and have no issues and they are just wicked fast an torqy.

Im not going to bag you on buying what ever i run, choice what you like the look of and suits your price range an go for it.

with servos: you will burn any servo if its not setup properly.

Savox 1256tg & 1258tg are plenty strong & fast enough for 1/8 buggies, add a 6.6v LiFe receiver pack & they are slightly better again.

It always suprises me that with such a question only pistol grip transmitters are advised while TS did not provide any info on that issue. Probably me as a user of stick transmitters is the only one to think of other options or come up the question about which type of transmitter

You can steer a pistol quicker from left to right, countersteering into a skid. I also feel that I have better response and reaction times from my trigger finger than my throttle thumb (stick). And the pistol is more comfortable for long mains.

But I have nothing against airplane radios, and use one often, for my airplane.

A friend can run both and has both but does prefer a steering wheel. Once with 1/18 racing there was a chicane he had troubles with because he steered to slow, he switched to stick and the problem was solved.

Problem with pistol transmitters is that most drivers do steer from the wrist and not from the fingers, that is a huge mass to make a move loosing some reaction time. Good drivers do only move the fingers on the wheel. With sticks (and for sure with short sticks) you only have to move the thumb.

Althoug TS did not give the wish for which type it is always good to ask.

Savox 1268 best Price - Nitrohouse... $75 bucks.... Best servo for the money - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Get a radio that you like. Make sure your comfortable with it. Some or heavier than others. Some have features you may like ect.. Get a good radio as it should last you for years to come.
