Shock oil weights

I was wondering what the # on shock oils meant, and if they were directly related to the weight of the oil. ie: #400 is equal to 40wt.

Thanks, so a #400 oil is roughly equivalent to a 30WT oil.

It depends on the brand.
Check the Cts to see which is closest.

Cant seem to find the equivalent...of Xray 30wt to an AE shock oil.
Can anyone please give me the equivalent of it?

Looks like Xray 300 (354 Cts) matches up to AE 27.5 (350 Cts) pretty good.
According to their charts.
Does AE even make a 27.5?
You could use AE 30 which is 373 Cts. I think that is the closest.

I believe Xray is now using CST's to do their weight. If you have an older bottle of Xray oil, then 300 is roughly 30. If you have the newer bottles, then the 350 cst is the 30 weight equivalent.
