Hey Guys,
I'd like to let people know that sme of the earlier reported failures of cells were caused by people charging the IB's with a 0.05 to 0.06 delta peak like there GP's. This lead to some cooked packs.
I charge at 6 and peak at 0.024 on my Pitbull X3 and 0.02 or 0.03 depending on room temp on my GFX. I peak around 4300 or mor e mah (not that thats important) and pack is about 130 to 135 degrees.

So I've been out of the sport since the first run of GP3300's came out. I'm reading up on everything, but I can't seem to find straight info on exactly how to tray these new IB3800's. I still have my reactor 30, which sounds like it'll be ok for the initial discharge after a run. But after that, I can't seem to figure out if I need a .90 AND a zero tray or would it be ok to take the pack from the reactor 30 straight to say a Trinity zero tray?
I see there may be other, better options out there now. If I must get the integy 030 and other trays in order to keep these batteries performing well, I'm not opposed to it. But, I'm trying to get good performance without buying an entire hobby shop right off the bat. So, if the reactor is acceptable, I'm just looking for how to tray them after that step.

Your current equipment is fine. The reason I reccomend the 0-30 is because it's very easy to use and discharges really fast.
Discharge your pack down on your Reactor after your run. Leave the pack alone until the next time you run it. Then before you go to charge it back up place it in your Trinity tray. Sinced the Trinity tray discharges slower than the 0-30 I would leave the pack in for 2 minutes then remove it from the tray and start charging it.

The Duratrax tray is fine as it's the same as the 0-30. It does discharge a bit slower but is still fairly fast. Just put your pack in it for 1-2 minutes prior to charging.

As stated in am earlier post by Danny, discharging at a lower amp rate, such as 10 amps, trains your cells to discharge at that lower amp rate which is no good for power.
And yes, he recommends the high rate discharge of the 0-30. The Novak tray is to equalize the cells not dump them.

If you bring your pack down all the way to zero and leave it like that for to long you will lose some runtime. This is why I reccomend leaving it on the tray 1-2 minutes before you charge it.
The amp at which you discharge the pack down before you charge it isn't really critical. What your doing is bringing the cells down to a similar level. The Novak tray will work but due to its high cost you can get the same results with a resistor only tray for 1-2 minutes.

so basically
discharge down to .9 and store them. when you are ready to charge discharge each cell down to 0v and hold for 1-2min and then charge.
is that correct? with out using any brand or name of any product

I use a combination of different discharge boards. When I use the INdi-whihc discharges at 20-I let them sit for a minute or two. If I use the NOvak Smart tray-I just leave them till the lights go out at 0.9.
I have deadshorted IB3800's, but i am tired of the deadshort hassles.

Leave your pack in a resistor tray for 1-2 minutes just before charging it. The cells don't need to be at 0V.
