What do you look for when buying a Lipo charger?

Can anyone recommend one? i dont need another do it all expensive charger. Probably something under $60.

If your going to be charging the orion/peak platinums 4800's, look for a li-po charger that will go up to 5 amps, 4.8 is the recommended setting for those. Atleast for the orion/peak nothing else is really required as long as it is made for charging li-po's, not really sure about other batteries springing up these days. I think integy is making some li-poly only chargers now under $100, and FMA makes some inexpensive ones also, than the scorpion.

The specs on both chargers look identical, just one has bananna jacks on the side instead of the top. Cant go wrong with either IMO.

The Duratrax ICE charges LiPo batteries too but is a bit more expensive than $60. There has been a fair bit of discussion about it lately in its thread if you find it you can read more about it.

I don't get it, you will buy a $140 battery pack, but then cheap out on the charger? Doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe he already has one, for NiCad/Nimah. Or If all he's going to run is li-po why would you need all those extra features? I have a 16x8v6 with built in dyno, and now asking myself the same thing after spending $229........

Hobbipro got it right on the money. I already got a do it all charger (eagle racing cdc) that charges Nicd/Nimh with 20A discharger/cycler build in. So I just want a Lipo only charger for my Mini LST's lipo packs.

This is what I picked up for the Orion Plats:
Integy 16x Lithium
It's cheap and incredibly small. If you don;t need the power supply they sell a version without it. I'm already running a 16x7 for my GPs which I'm happy with and I didn't see a reason to drop that much more money when I didn't have to. Just got the batteries in today so I'll see how well it works soon.

if you just want to charge LiPos then get the Astro Flight charger, its about 120, it will only charge LiPos, however this is the best charger as it will charge the battery to its fullest capacity as the other ones posted will not.
