I agree with John. Running on low grip asphalt you have to start thinking like you're tuning a rally car, letting the suspension move instead of being restricted with limiters and sway bars.

Wow it's been almost a full year... Race director had some health issues so we did not run our usual summer series this year but we just ran a race this past weekend albeit on a "first time" indoor setup. The race surface was rubberized running track and turned out to be awesome!

My TC4 with the gear diff conversion ran great. You could definitely hear the car since the pinion on the input shaft is not 100% fixed in place but there was no noticeable issues with wear at all. The diff ran great all day. The only thing being I still don't know if the openings on the case will be an issue for debris since we ran on a clean indoor surface.

Now to just tune in more steering... car is so planted and easy to drive i couldn't get the rear end to loosen up and rotate at all

Hello, I've been out of tc racing for almost ten years. Use to race indoor carpet with tc4. My question is does anyone know if diggity chassis conversion still being produced? I tried calling twice and sent email but got no answer either way. I want to buy a new tc4 and put diggity conversion on it. Thanks

The TC 4 is a great run chassis car. Easy to tune and find part and set ups for, but upgrading beyond shocks and a couple other small upgrades becomes difficult as the upgrade parts are hard to come by.

But if you really want a carbon chassis shaft drive, look into the Tamiya Evo 6 with the Exotek conversion. It's a good alternative and parts are also easy to get.

Always been kinda fond of AE vehicles. That's really all I've owned. Will the tc4 platform be competitive in tc 21.5t or 17.5t club racing? I looked on eBay and I can get a tc6.2. Kinda was trying to keep it at a reasonable cost. I do race 2 other classes.

Yes, it works pretty well in those classes. You'll probably want to upgrade to threaded shocks fairly early though to properly adjust the suspension.

The bigger problem you'll have (in 17.5, anyway) will be getting down to minimum weight with the standard chassis. It's not impossible, it just takes work.

Wow!!! If I'm reading correctly. 1350 gr is minimum weight. That means the tc4 club racer roller is already over limit by itself. Not including body, tires, battery and electronics. Right now I can pick up a tc7 for $335 from Towerhobbies with my discounts. Might go that route. Correct me if I have that weight limit thing all wrong. Back in the day when I raced my first tc4 all they cared about is that you ran a 27t or 19t motor depending on the class.

You can hit 1350g with a stock TC4 Club Racer if you use a lightweight shorty battery and put the ESC on the battery side to keep the left/right balance. The roller itself with no running gear is quite a bit under 1350g.

I guess the specs listed on AE and a few other sites have the weight wrong. They have it listed at 1375g.
