hey everyone, is the aluminum gear box (53990) a recomended hop up for the ta05v2?i was just wondering because the stock gearboxes seem rather weak.

Not only are the center pullys different , the diff pullys are different. The TA05 has 36 teeth and the new car has 37.

No, the main chassis is different too, it's narrower, & that also means the chassis braces have to be different too. Also, the new chassis is meant to use the new seperated suspension mounts, while all the older versions are not. So we'll just have to wait for Tamiya to release new carbon-filled parts(which I expect shouldn't take too long).....

yeah but what i meant is that most parts from the ver2 fits on the 3racing chassi for the old ta05!
and with the 3r chassi you get the braces and everything. so steering and the seperated sus mounts should be the only thing that dont fit.

was thinking of getting the ver2 or converting my ifs r but went for a 416we instead.

My verII is ready running on 5.5T Brushless. Can anyone help me out on the option parts etc TBO3,TR415,416 for upgrade on my VERII? Am eager to put on option parts as soon as possible and i will update you on its performance on drifts as well.

Does anyone know if there is a replacement diff joint outdrives that fit on the TA-05 one way but allow the driveshafts with the plastic inserts to be used.
Maybe the 416 outdrives or older 415 perhaps?
Has anyone thought about or done this???

kit original shock spring, is it good?
If change to onroad spring set, what color to use fr/rr? what the spring rate compare to the stock one, it is softer/harder?

Honestly, I'm not sure any of Tamiya's one-way outdrives can accomodate those plastic blades. But that's why most of us who use a one-way also get some steel dogbones, they stand up to the abuse VERY well....

Not sure about the kit springs, but there is a good place to see the spring rates for all of Tamiya's others, check out www.thard.co.uk , they have LOTS of good info for us, including spring rates for a LOT of different springs & some good gearing charts & suspension mount toe setting charts(can tell you which blocks to use to achieve a given setting). I consider it a must for ANYONE who runs a Tamiya.....

Hi need some info from you guys. Do you guys insert an O-ring(black color) on the ball connector for the damper? If yes does it apply the same thing on all the turnbuckle ball connector also? Thks!

I believe the stock silver spring is in between the blue (hard) and white (extra hard) Tamiya spring.
