Confused on these readings from your post:

rpm torq watt ef amps
33363 1.3 32 30 15.2
28508 4.0 85 68 17.9
27013 3.9 79 51 21.8
23500 6.0 79 51 24.9
20897 8.2 126 64 27.9
19602 9.1 132 62 30.1

At the 21.8Amp mark and the 24.9 the Watts are the same while the Torque value changed? Typo I presume?
it was a typo my bad i just looked at the print out and it is

23500 rpm 6.2 108 62 24.9 amps

Have had this happen before and its a glitch when you are running the Dyno - usually a slight power loss. Redyno I bet it comes out different.

Do you run a Golden Standard at all on your Dyno? if not you should have a motor you know is good Dyno it and store it so if there is ever a question of Dyno Results you can use that to make sure its not the Dyno. I have 5.

Dont take this as a slam as some people misinterpret things on the net, I am just trying to point something out and help a fellow racer/tuner out.

Yep. Got the baseline stored away safely.

I make 2 to 3 passes on the dyno with the same motor every time ,some times 4 just to make sure and the #'s are usually only off by +1-1.I use the same setting with all my stocks motors

How are you guys gearing the co27 compared to the monster? I geared the same as recommended by the sheet that came with the motor and it felt really flat on the top end. I used 767's with red green brushes. I geared all over the place and could not get as of fast lap times than with a monster. The dyno numbers are great but not being able to gear it makes it a useless motor to me. Im gonna test more tonight but its a little frustrating.

Jim -- I'd say your springs are too soft...

You used their gearing recommendations, but went way softer than their recommendations on the springs. They recommend Purple and Red. By using softer springs, when you geared up, the brushes arc too much due to insufficient spring tension.

If you want to use their recommended gearing, dont ignore their recommended setup.

Note that most on this thread are finding the motor "likes" stiffer springs like Purple/Red... Some are seeing good numbers on the dyno with softer springs, but the best dyno is the track, where vibration, etc. increase the brush bounce/arc, so soft springs on the dyno can be misleading. Also -- if you are using their rollout recommendations, I assume you are running in a sedan - some may be tuning for 4-cell 12th scale, etc. where the softer springs work.

Just a guess, but one based on my personal experience...

OH -- I know it's only an Oval Sanctioning body, but ARCOR has approved the Co27 for competition in sanctioned events effective March 18...

I am pretty happy with the performance of the motor so far. I have not tried it with the 767 brushes yet. I am planning on trying them tuesday night. It ran pretty good with the stock setup on it though. This is the Pro version with the red and purple springs on it of course.

I'd have to agree with tfrahm on the harder springs. I ran the CO27 this weekend with purple/red springs and ended up bending the springs slightly in order to cut down on arcing once I geared it up to P2K2 territory for the best results. The final spring tensions dyno'd at +258 and -248 and the rollout ended up around 29.8mm. Our current track config consists of four straights (one with a kink), four tight corners and a large sweeper. The "drag strip" layout makes the motors run deceptively cool even though we are gearing up higher than normal on all types of motors for the straights. However, the motors pull a lot of amps coming out of the tight corners and with the higher gearing arcing can be a problem with normal spring tensions. For tighter tracks the rollout for CO27's might be better around 28.5mm.
