Annular discharge is the way to go for more torque on big block 4 stroke "top fed" engines for more torque. I am not sure whether they significantly increase torque in a nitro engine as the extra atomisation may be wasted by the time it makes its way thorugh the crank area. Motorman will know for sure

Dennis - I would like to know more about RC engine technology. I want to learn how they work, both the theoritical and technical aspects it. I have read all I can from the Paris motors website. Are their any other good websites/resources that you can recommend? I want to be an engine guru like you!

Your RB 5 port has similar porting and cuts as the Richey engines but the crank timing on the Richey is different.

You can compare it with the stock MT12. At first, I had no idea how the Richey mods looked like or why it was so much more powerful. I looked at LittoDeviL's mods (his mods were based on seeing the Richey pics but his engine mods turned out to be a fiasco) and I still didn't understand how it worked because of his poor craftsmanship and little effort.

But after opening up an RTU and comparing it to a stock MT12, I got an idea of why certain cuts were made drawing in a faster fuel/air mixture to the combustion chamber where claw marks were used as a guide for the transfer ports (which also has been modified.) The crank is also a work of art forming a scoop for the mixture and enlarged intake. Bored and polished carb, modified and lowered head button for higher compression ratio, and skirted piston. But of course, to get to the point of becoming like Dennis, it will take years and many engines...

After seeing RTO's and RTU's run, the Richey engines are worth every penny. I'll stick with my stock MT12 and CVR, they are already plenty for me.

Ok actually ask him here on the MRX3 thread.

I was wondering if the RTU's are made durable? As in if the parts are properly dyno tested and balanced for reliability and performance or is is like JP, which has a tendancy for performance mainly?
Any comments from the owners?

Default RB vs Nova/Mugen

Motorman I posted a question to you about this in the HPI forum, but you must not have seen it I was wondering why you base your engines on Novas and Mugens but not RBs (until recently?). Is there something you dislike about RB? I am deciding on a .12 size rear exhaust and the RBs are considerably cheaper here. Is RS12 a big improvement on X12? Sorry for so many questions but if you or anyone else could answer I would be very pleased
