MTX 5

It 'a good idea to put the batteries from the exhaust side. The MTX4 is unbalanced with the batteries in the middle. Among the various changes that had to be made on the old machine as well as changing the transmission. He speaks out in Italy in early September, but do not believe it. According to me in October.

Balance I think is an interesting issue, though with this layout I'd suspect it would be easy enough to get, now with so many guys going LiPo/LiFe it's going to matter less where you put the battery anyway, placing the battery low/middle was always a way to make the most of a heavy NiMh pack.
Looking closer at the pics today, some things have changed from the CAD, though I'm still loving all the space around the engine, and the symmetrical chassis looks cool.
Interesting thing I wondered about on the CAD, and now maybe confirmed on the new pics, looks like you won't be able to use a low profile steering servo.
So who else if going to pre-order?, I'm thinking I will when it hits the HK shops, was considering waiting till some bugs get sorted out, but I'd like to wrench on one and have a run before the end of the year...

If that is right, then we may start to see some more places have pre-orders with pricing on them next week...
If we are lucky we may see around $550 US pricing, though early orders may be more expensive, depending on where you are and where you buy from will also alter than, with any luck with current exchange rates it should be a $600 or sub six range everywhere?.

A standard low profile servo is shorter in height, the width and depth of the case are the same. The picture you are showing, the steering servo would "stick out" less. The wiring may have to be folded over carefully.
More importantly since the car has been designed around full sized servos your going to be messing with the left to right balance.

The low profile servo not fitting is simply an observation, and no it's 'not' going to fit into that gap, you would have to mall something major to do so...
Only reason I bring it up is more people 'are' using duel low profile servos on nitro cars now, I was thinking of doing it myself (I like low profile servos), my observation is simply that I'm not going to be able to do that on a MTX5, no big deal, I'm sure I'll get over it.
30Tooth - Spurs look simular, but I'd not bet money on it, they are advertising the internal ratios are different, so we could be looking at different teeth numbers than the 3 or 4 series.
As for the rims, I don't recognize them, but there has been several new 'black' rims coming out of several companies recently, black is the new cool for RC.

the new clutch system is "similar" to the past system...only the clutchbell is not conical...instead its straight...but pushingplate in conical...so flyweights have a smaller way to go ---> More Punch and better adjustment

Thanks Bishop, the rims must be some sponsor close to Mugen, maybe ZAC Project,no biggie i'll wait. They should change the spurs, some people had more of them in stock than stores had.
This a wild guess but the servo cords are so close to the mount using normal servos that when using low profile servos maybe the cords fit good inside the mount.
