I ran the stock pod. Joel or I will post my setup sometime a little later today. He knows it by heart because he built it, whereas I have to measure some stuff. Lol

Robbie's car is built how we've always run team cars. There's a window it seems where every speedmerchant 12th is within. I may when I have time write out a setup sheet with that.

Jaco lilac
Stock old school front end
1*camber 4* caster
.020 spring
Green spooge on kingpin

Pack inline
35wt ae shock oil
Ae blue center spring
2* pod droop
.020 side springs 2 turns down from up
Green spooge in tubes
blue rear tire
AMR body centered in front wheel wells.

I promise, once I get all of my own electronics and a little time to actually sit down and put time into them, it will be much more camera worthy.

Thanks for posting the setup Joel!

Ive had a 3 race days on the Rev8 so far, and it continues to get better each time I run it. I started out with the car inline, but felt more comfortable with the transverse battery configuration at my club track.

This past weekend, I incorporated some of the ideas from Robbie's setup posted above(albeit still keeping the car transverse) and I moved to the #5025 aluminum front knuckles... which allowed me to shim the front springs more to my liking. With the stock plastic steering knuckles I ended up with a fair amount of front spring preload, even without any shims. Allowing the front end a little more downtravel really helped keep the car calm/settled in sections of track that weren't the smoothest... and also gave the car a bit more mid-corner steering. I also liked the feeling of Red Spooge in the tubes with a bit less side spring preload(1.5 turn vs 2) rather than the Green....

Our track layout has been in place for about 5-6 weeks now, so the fastest laps and overall runs in each class are pretty well established. While we didn't have a big turnout for 12th this past weekend, I did end up resetting the track record for 17.5 by ~8 seconds, putting down the only 41 lap run to date on this layout. The car was very solid, developed a lot of natural steering, but wasn't twitchy or too aggressive.

Bruce asked me to post a pic of the transverse setup and I figured I would share my setup, in case anyone is looking for a place to start for a non-inline configuration:

-James Lundberg

Edit: I made a mistake above... the side springs are at 1.5 turns down. They are just barely touching the pod plate.

thanks for the report, but does anyone know the purpose of that hole on the left end of the top plate? it was clearly designed into it as there is additional material surrounding it. just curious, I can't think of a reason for it.

Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a Rev8 to replace my sloppy X12.
I race with Mr Lomas (when he has a car that works....) here in the UK.

I'm currently in the US though, and thought it would be good to pick up what I need whilst over here.

I can use an xray rear axle but it seems I need everything else, ie. a virtually complete kit, with old school front end and team tamale rear pod. Most bits seem available as seperate parts, although the tamale pod wasn't in stock last time I looked.

I've tried emailing SM a few times now over the last couple of weeks, to clarify what I need and what is available to order, but I haven't received any replies

Can anyone give me a definitive list or help with contacting them?
