I'd stick with the TRX connectors. You won't gain any advantage switching to Deans unless you have friends/other racers that use Deans and you would share batteries with.

Traxxas plugs actually handle more amperage than deans and have bigger contact surface, so going to deans would be a downgrade.

I used them all and the best is still Deans although the chinese market is pushing the banana connectors racers still use Deans. Here is why easy to connect it stays connected and its easy to disconnect that is why Deans are still the most popular amongst racers, now if you just bash then anything will do. Contrary to what some say in this thread it is not a down grade it allows just as much amps to flow to your ESC. Please check your facts before you post false data Arakon. My advice is if you have TRX and just bash then stick with them. If you wanna race or plan on racing then deans are much easier to work with believe me when you wanna disconnect your battery without removing your RC's body deans are a lot easier to disconnect then TRX.

If you want to use a connector and not a 4mm bullet. Deans and NOT Chinese knock offs. Get actual Deans. They are not the same. All of the spring load or push and lock connecters tend to back off and make your connection crap. Dean do require a little bit better soldering skill though

I found Deans easier to put together than TRX connectors.....

But yes, definatley stick with genuine Deans. The knock-offs often don't fit together well. I have a Deans (knock-off) to servo style plug adapter to charge the RX pack in my nitro buggy, and it is SOOO tight, I'm worried about tearing the wire any time I need to remove it. Any of my genuine deans to deans connections are super smooth, and I've NEVER had one pull apart unless I want it to.

yeah, I bought a pack for my kids car with a knock deans connector. I put a real deans on her esc, but she cant even plug or unplug it. I also fear I might rip the wires out. Real dean plug together well and stay pluged.

Since this subject comes up so often, I'll throw my choice in, just to muddy the waters a bit more.

I found a really great article online a while back about this topic and lipo's in general. I thought it was a good informative read and seemed helpful. Whether or not somebody agrees with the connectors amp rating is debatable. I do know that the heli guys know their stuff though. They discuss connectors about 2/3 down the page.

I personally have switched everthing over to bullets from trx connectors.

Not directed at you, just a tip prompted by your last comment. Have the Dean’s plugged together while soldering, helps with heat dissipation and preventing/reducing distortion that can make them unnecessarily difficult to pull apart. Doesn’t mean working on those soldering skills isn’t needed, important skill in this hobby regardless, for those who need it check out the excellent sticky thread in the Radio & Electronics forum.

And yes, I remember the FX10. Well sorta….
