I love mine but find it very sensitive to low input voltage.
If any of my packs go over 9.6V(ish) I get a "supply voltage low"
message.
This means I cant charge NiCd's with it.

Other than that its a great value charger.

I have never had a problem with low imput votage and I charge 8 cell packs that peak over 12 volts. Get a better power supply.

Default Dyno Charger

Just got mine yesterday. So far so good. As for step charging I have the Orion Advantage. I can not tell a difference between step charging and linear charging. Both feel the same to me.

Anyway I bought this unit mainly for breaking in and tuning motors based on the fact it can also power and /or charge my comm lathe so my orions can just charge my packs.

I noticed that the default voltage for motor check is 3V, what do most dynos actually test at voltage wise and what is everyone using default or other?

Thanks,

Thought about getting one of these. Anybody know of a place with a good price for it?

http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...nid=59&id=4707. Looks like the price mysteriously went up $30 recently. Presumably because it's a new step-charge version.

Default Step Charging

Just got my new S3's today and will have my new cells this weekend. I will try out the step charging and see how well it works and report back.

Later,

Hey guys. Just gt my APS...one Question though when using the motor checker. Is having a high amp draw a good or a bad thing? I have several Monster Stocks that I want to check out. Just want to know what to look for.

Default Stock Motor AMP Draw

A higher amp draw is definetly a good thing when it comes to a stock motor. You should see around 10amps for a good stock motor.

Hope this helps,

IMHO
higher amp draw may mean something or not a thing at all,

bushings are a bit tight = higher amp draw
springs have high tension = high amp draw
superb stock motor = high amp draw

i have tuned fast stockers with low and high amp draws.

Hi,
Just wanted to know what is a good setting for the updated software to charge an old sanyo 3000. Im not sure what the Step charge can do to fix the battery. I see that you can setup the 3 steps at different Amp, mAH and peak.

The factory settings was 8amp, 1 amp, then 8amp. Just worried it will fry the packs

I just borrowed one of this chargers to try to revive my old 3000 for practice.

Thanks in advance!
