The stock thrust bearing seems to desintegrate after a a few runs with mod motors, and should last a while with 10.5/13.5BL power...any other thrust bearings you guys recommend? Will Xray T2 work?

I didn't have any luck with the stock thrust bearings, but I put Xray ones in and never had a problem after that...

I'm not really sure why everyone hates on the stock thrust bearings, I've never had an issue with them, and i certainly don't redo the diffs to often...right Mr. Larcher?

Hey Valls when ya gonna bust out the sedan again?

I didn't even know they had a thrust bearing. I am still yet to take the diffs apart. I gotta completely redo the drivetrain because it doesn't feel as free as it should.

I haven't yet tried the mcmaster but I have tried the offroad losi (non caged) and the Axiom set, I prefer the axiom because it's caged, but the stock ones last me 2 maybe 3 runs before they explode. I make sure to leave them in hayne's pit when they do Should I start a list of things you can get away with if your Mike Haynes?

1. not running axle shims, yet my wheels have 1dg camber gain without them??
2. immortal thrust bearings, his can with stand a crash that splits a chassis and top deck, mine get over tightened 1/4 turn and turn into brass dust.
....

oh yeah, it's the radio!!!

lol, as long as it took to type "thrust bearing" in the search box and then determine the size and material?

I put in the part number and it came right up, took about 2 seconds.

I got mcmaster thrust bearings in my car right now, i did it a while ago before he posted a part number.

If you can't find it on mcmaster, it doesn't exist!!

1. I'm having a hard time figuring out what the axle shims would do to have any effect on camber gain... I could see the axles binding slightly without the shims in place if someone grunted the nuts tight, but I can't see where camber gain comes into the picture...

2. No problems whatsoever with the stock thrust bearings here, and I crash a LOT more than Mike does... I probably crash more in one day then he does all season. I've never had the thrust bearing go bad in any touring car diff...now 1/12 scale is another matter... I kill one every race day (the outer flanged bearing in the right hub)

1. Without the shims my wheels have so much play you could see a change in camber from wiggling them.

2. ok so there are 2 magicians here, the other 15 people at our track alone blow them up very quickly

3 magicians because i have only blown 1 thrust bearing. And you were gracious enough to provide me with a new one.
