Avid woes
i picked up a robitronic avid in a trade and the rear diff is completely blowed out. so instead of breaking the bank to referb it i would like to go the gear diff route. is there anyone out there who makes one for this car? i know its an older chassis but surely somebody has got one to fit.

I to have been looking for a gear diff and havent been able to find one ,the tc6 gear diff is close and with some sanding it could fit but then you would have to find a different front spool cause the pully on the tc6 diff is larger. I would just buy the stuff to rebuild the ball dif.

rebuilt the diff but it still blew up. i think i will just buy a complete new one instead. there may have been some irreplacable damage done by the previous owner. but if you have any tips or tricks or mods up your sleeve please share. i like this chassis and its layout (even if it is dated), but the drive train is giving me major probs.

friend of mine got the avid and put a gear diff on it..... I will get a hold on him and ask him what is necessary for the installation.

He use the 417 gear diff. And add around 2-3mm spacers to shim the diff properly inside the rear bulk head.
