Default 17.5 b6.1 motor help

Currently have a reedy s+ plus and looking for something a little more snappy . My current timing on it is 36* with a 27/72 gearing . I am thinking about picking up a revtech 17.5 motor with the tep1119 rotor but don’t know what timing and gearing to run. Any advice ? Thanks

XFactor 17.5 gearing should be good to start at 72/27. However, you can go shorter in gearing like 25 to be safe. These motors rev.
Leave timing where they set it. Somewhere between 35-58 degrees.

I currently run lower timing on the can when the air temp is high. 35 degrees.

In an indoor setting with 75 degree air temps I run around 45 on the can.

The Xfactors have a wide range of timing they can run.

I was running a V21 Wurks, tuned by Rotor Ron with his hop ups (Aluminum Screws). I ran 2 teeth under the setup book, indoor clay. Felt I was as fast as any.
