I didn't think there was an on-road track here, it would be awesome if there is!

Safe to assume that indoor is for 1/10 only?

In the spring/summer they do an outdoor track for 1/10 on road.

Oh, that’s awesome news, thanks! I’ve been wanting to get in some track time without driving an hour or more, and was starting to think I’d have to pick up a buggy, but now I can spend this cash on a new motor and ESC instead. This also means I should spend it at RCHR!

Do you know what classes they run? The website just shows that they do club racing, but I can't find any info about the classes online.

Bummer, I drove down there today and they were closed and the road course was broken down. Supposedly they’re open 11-5 on Sunday, so part of me wonders if they were at RCMadness’ BBQ

They didn't race yesterday due the 60% chance of rain that was forecasted. The on-road track is only set up on race days since that is one of the parking areas used during the week for the machine shop that shares the building.

17.5 buggy is the most popular class followed by Mod truck. Been getting a steady Mod buggy class the last several weeks on Wednesday, Saturday is generally a larger turnout.

Sundays you should always call, I think it depends if they can find someone to run the shop. Info on the Facebook page as well https://www.facebook.com/groups/444038369136155

for everyone asking about on road.. we are going to move the races to scheduled Sunday races. The weather has been killing us this year. we tried to race last Sunday but it rained. we are racing off road today and on road tomorrow. doors open at 8am tomorrow racing starts at 11. we have a 4tec and 21.5 class usually. I'll post a Sunday schedule for the rest of aug/sept this week

I drove down yesterday and dropped a bunch of cash on parts to build out my first 2wd buggy — it’s so easy to order stuff online, but we’re so incredibly lucky to have a local shop and I realize that it’s important to support it however possible. There used to be a shop with a track 15 minutes from my house, but it’s gone now, and I’m constantly wishing I’d spent more money there over the years.

Of course, I picked up everything I thought I needed, but ended up short ONE 4.8mm ball stud. It’s a perfect example of why having an LHS is so important, given a choice between a 30-minute drive or waiting 5-7 days for something to ship to my house, I’ll take the drive so that a) I’m not stuck without a car, and b) once I get it rolling there’s an actual track to drive on.

I’m also not sure how aware everyone is of their website, but they’ve also got used gear on there too. I picked up a nice 17.5 motor pretty cheaply, and there’s a bunch of other stuff on there worth checking out.
