I find the solid front weird also. It should cause major understeer though.

It does create mild understeer, but understeer makes the car easier to drive. It also allows the car to track straight under hard acceleration and braking. Diffs all the way around would be too squirly for that much power.

I suppose so. Especially with a torquey .18 engine.

Enough about the stupid RTR, your just gonna rebuild it to an R soon or later.

What is the deal with the fact that ROAR is not allowing the 5 port motors and Turbos are verboten. Are they illegal in IFMAR also.
Flame suit on. ROAR and these other sanctioning bodies are a bunch of whining political babies that can't wipe themselves after they drop a bomb. The sanction foams on touring after half the committee decides not to show up and of the three yoyos there 1 is a foam manufacturer. 4 ports 5 ports 10 ports in a motor, BFD! Displacement, carb size, compression, and fuel are the major factors in a motor. Why are we trying to limit the progress of what racing and R&D are doing to the industry. We learn how to make our cars faster and the rules makers find ways of fouling it up. If they want a showcase of talent do an IROC race. but we are Racers, Engineers, Creators, even cheaters. Yokomo has had the best car in its class and with the top drivers it is hands down unbeatable.
Whew! I just decided to spew. Any you got to read it.

Anyone tried to play with pulley differential front to rear on the Yokomo GT4. I have heard/read a number of electrics that use different ratios front to back for cornering purposes.

It's summertime here in Australia so the weather is good. But our track is getting resurfaced and is closed for racing. My Gt4 sits on the bench ready to go. What am I to do?

acs---You're in Australia and can't race 'cause it's a bit wet...I'll tell ya what to do. STOP WHINING!!! My GT4 sits on my work bench in a state of disrepair after the Canadian Nationals and it's -20 degrees C. outside with no hope of racing untill April. Dude, my garage is so cold I can't even rebuild the GT4!!!

jjmudd

summertime means hot sunny days with no rain. I never said anything about it being cold.

Why don't you try some snow chains on your gt4. Yokomo make them its part no ZE - idontthinkso.

What's your setup with tire chains? I hear they work great.

anyone got the GT4R? i notice that they uses wide offset tires in the rear and normal tires in the front...

who here uses that setup?

or do you all go out and buy longe pivot ball studs and longer dogbone and use the same width tires all round?

I actually don't have the GT4R yet but from my assumption, the 190mm dogbones and pivot balls won't extend far enough.

To use regular tires in the rear, you'll need 200mm pivot balls and dogbones. Its only about a $30 conversion for the parts.

You guys go ahead and poke fun, but some of the nutbars up here thought that with a number of thumb tacks in place we could have an ice race weekend!!
