Found some 10mm LED's (measured the light decals for the javelin and these are the closest to it for the headlights. Wouldn't be perfectly scale, but would at least fill those light areas. The rear tails, I'd have to find smaller ones to make a row of small lights to take up the space.
I might add that on the home made buckets that I used on my HPI 70 Mach 1 Mustang at the USVTA Southern Nationals, I managed to beat the living soup out of that shell and never knocked a bucket loose or bounced an LED out of it. I went in there thinking surely I would.

Since it looks like your in the LA area (by TQRacing.com) you could also look at the new Spec-R S1 which is a sport version of the new R1. It's priced around the same as the Sakura Zero S and the folks in the Spec-R R1 thread seem to really like the car, and you would have parts support locally. Just giving you another option.

Well we couldn't stay away for long so if any of you VTA types are coming down to Central Florida to escape the cold, feel free to stop by and have some fun with us. We're proud to say that our club was the first in Florida to offer official rules VTA.
We took a little break but now it's time to get back to the business of having fun.

Give me a yell if you have any questions and it's good to be back !!!

Seriously, everytime I run that car, I say to myself, "I should do that on my VTA car." But, then I get home and forget about it. Adding lights is so easy to do, and adds big time cool factor too.

Now this is very cool. Trinity/Epic is now making a Titanium Racing 5000mAh LiPo battery specifically designed for VTA racing.

Well besides the fact that it's the only battery in the market that has 'VTA' printed on the label, here's an explanation from Radio Control Car Action Magazine ...

It's really not any different from other 5000mah Lipo batteries. It's just cool to see the first Lipo battery maker to acknowledge the VTA class and make a Lipo that has 'VTA' written on it. Have you seen any other R/C race classes be written on a Lipo battery label? I haven't.
Makes it easy for REAL race programs/clubs or tracks to
Tech the class
You know back when we ran the FIRST VTA race in the state of FLORIDA
For the state series. http://www.usvintagetransam.com/gallery/index.html
the rules were a bit loose and we tried to tech it as much
As possible
So much easier now
I remember all the cars going through tech to get their FDR checked
Man did that take forever
Now at big races we just look in see a 5000 pack approved speedo 1550 on the scale and maybe a voltage check and off you go

ah you guys have a battery limit...ok...
funny thing I run a 2300 lipo that is 20c and i do top 5 all the time in 6 min mains (gt stock class).......so to me batteries are not that important
as long as you force people to go out and buy this battery down the road and just keep the limit.......and thats how i got 2, reedy 2300 lipos lol
