On a side note...

It still amazes me that some of the same tired topics keep repeatedly coming up in the *USVTA* thread. Perhaps a separate generic/ROAR VTA thread would eliminate some of the bickering?

So is anyone going to be upset that I'm going to put in a 351 Windsor block, Aussie 2V Cleveland Head motor in my 69 Mustang Sportsroof rustoration? It's not a technically a Boss and it's not a 302 per Trans Am rules. I will be running the Vintage 5 spoke rear wheels. I'm sure my ride height will exceed 50mm. I'm also debating between a T5 or T56 manual.

I'm not sure HPI makes tires that big, so I'm thinking of Comp T/As instead...

Once knew a kid in high school with a 72' Mustang Coupe that had a 302 with 351 heads (according to him - he never let us look under the hood)....that thing would roast the tires until he decided to let off. It was a rocket!!

How about this for a new rule... all USVTA cars must mount the motor on top of the hood and use a belt to couple the motor shaft to the tranny at the front diff! The ESC must stay inside the body. And the new USVTA spec tires are made by Hoosier.

Its basically an iron version of a NASCAR motor. Good intake and exhaust numbers and should rev to 7000 without floatjng the valves. Edelbrock makes bofh a 4 barrel and EFI intakes. I hope to take it to vintage meets at Elkheart Lake when it's done. I'm quite sure I will need extra underwear.

I sent robk a pm about the endcap. If he doesn't say it in this thread I will let you know the result. There is definitely no performance advantage other than it maybe being .1 or .2 grams lighter.

I object to the term "rocket" being used to describe a 25.5 motor! lol

Long story but I'm hoping to squeek in a LCQ on Sunday and put it in the A and then run the main.
