Juz my 2 cents worth
Suri didn't won the world championship solely because of the equipment. Yes, good equipment is a must. By today's standards in design and manufacture, most cars are of a similar or near equivalent standard, except a few.
What makes the difference between Suri, Masami & the other top contenders, is their psychological state of mind at the championship. In this instance, this time around, Suri won.

How do you prepare for a big race?
Barry
Practice, practice, practice. For the recent World's in South Africa, the great guys at Hot Rod Hobbies would open the track for me during the weekday. The track conditions there were what we expected the conditions in South Africa to be with track temperatures often reaching over 130 degrees. All that preparation worked well for the recent Reedy Race as well.

What is the biggest mistake new drivers make?
Barry
Some drivers get too caught up in the hype. The key to winning is simply to practice.
