R2 Hobbies 36" Cat build.
I just received the hull, and I am impressed with the quality. The plan is to do a single Tekin T8 motor, which I had laying around, and a 180AMP ESC from Offshore Electrics. It will run on 5 or 6 cells. I am waiting for all the drive componenets coming from Hong Kong. Meanwhile, I began decorating the hull, and figuring out how to make a water cooling jacket for a finned motor, designed for air cooling!
Enjoy the photos.

You might want try less cells with that motor or get a low kv motor to run 5-6 cell lipo.

You think? It's a 2250kv motor. Will 5S-6S over spin it? I used to run it on 4S but with 5S everything seemed to run cooler...if that's possible.
EDIT: Yup. This page spells it out nicely.

Go with a motor with a cooling jacket and motor like this and you will be a lot more happy, just not sure how good your homemade stuff would work.

Some updates.
I did some more graphics on the hull in silver carbon vinyl, and white pin striping.
I received the hardware and installed it. I made a backing plate out of Delrin to help support the rudder/strut. I installed the drive tube and shaft. I completed the cooling jacket for the Tekin, and it holds pressure. It also has a lot more volume than the typical cooling jacket which is good for burst cooling. But, I did decide to pickup a different motor too. I will complete the boat with the Tekin motor, but I will switch to the leopard motor when I am more comfortable with the boat.
The Leopard is a 4200 watt 4-pole unit 1480kv. That's about 5.6 Horsepower on 6S at 115 amps. I got a good deal on ebay for it. I think it's too much power but we shall see.

The motor was too high for the cowl, so I cut and lowered the "firewall", and removed some ply from directly under the motor, for clearance.
Rear battery location gives a good CG location.
Used a Traxxas truck box to keep the Rx dry, and the wiring tidy.
Ready for Spring.

Turned out nice.

Well, you be the judge. It still needs some strut angle and depth adjusting, and I think the rudder is a tad too small, but when it settles in a straight line...

Build tip:
Add glass reinforcement under the deck, around the four corners of the hatch opening. It begins to crack there rather quickly.
