got to try 747 this weekend at kissimmee. ran Paolo's LA set up except for 30000 in rear dif, car was great. The reason for 30000 in rear diff was low traction because it rained for about a week. the car is much more responsive than 733, the diffs are super smooth and new clutch and transmission/gearing were great. Layout was changed so no laptimes to compare. car is lite even with with life battery, steel pivotballs, case for receiver car is still under 1700. rules are 1725 so i still have to add weight.

Hi guys,

Got a question regarding which motors everyone is using. I tried to install a Mugen Ninja MR12 in the 747 but the exhaust port and manifold don't seem to clear the side belt. Anyone experiencing this with Novarossi or Picco motors?

Thanks,

thanks for the tip....but no luck, the belt still rubs on the manifold. Might have to try a different motor.

try a different manifold and pipe. the nova manifolds are cut away near the flange to motor , sort of angled cut away, the belt still runs close, BTW i tried the tensioner under the tray , and the side belt is too tight for that. maybe after some running the belt loosens up, it may fit underneath the tray.

yah...looks like the ninja manifold is wider due to cooling fins on it. thanks for the info.

Had the same problem with a GRP (same as ninja) in the 733. Just a matter of grinding as much material off the underside of the manifold as possible and it will just clear.

Thanks,
find larger bearings to ride on the holder this will increase the diam and bring your belt down further.

The other option is to get yourself a nice .12 KEEP-ON
