Hi !
This thread deserves some more posts.
Im driving two DF03`s at the moment. One with a Novak HV 4.5 system on 4s lipo, and the other with a Xerun 120a and a Novak 6.5r on 3s lipo.
Both cars are using 2.2 truck wheel/tires and Im yet to strip gearboxes or make the diffs slip.
I find the DF03 to be durable and more than ok handlingwise for a basher.
I was thinking of getting the Durango DEX 410r also, but it seem to be difficult to fit either 4s or 3s on those chassis and to use 2.2 truck wheels will need some modifications also.
Use this thread more please, the DF03 is a great car !

DF-03 2WD
Has any one run the DF-03 as a 2 wheel drive? I was thinking of it as a way to reduce the weight in the front.

I'm not sure why you'd "truck up" a 4WD racing buggy, just buy their DEXSC 410 or whatever it's called - basically the same chassis but it's an SC truck already with the proper arms and shocks etc. You will be limited to 2S saddle packs however due to the rear drive shaft height issue - it is really more of a racer than a basher.
Regarding the DF03 chassis, rumours says that there might come a 1/10 Porsche 959 body soon.. allready prepared a chassis for it
Ive also done some improvements on the rear damperstay/wing mount. Will post pictures later.

Yes, Tamiya mostly releases a samll amount of a special cars like the MS cars. Most of the people buy a normal DF03 kit and upgrade themselve with parts from 3Racing etc.
#1015
are they any good against the like of durango and other 4wd out there?
#1016
also, i believe there was some drivetrain durability issues with the Tamiya (may have been resolved) with higher turn motors.

If the track does not have large jumps, it would do better. If you already own one and want to dabble in racing, go for it, but keep the motor mild and don't try to land any triples. If you are looking to purchase something to race with, go with a used B44, ZX-5, XXX-4, or XX-4 for the same price (or cheaper).

Hi guys does anyone know where I can get the five stars steel mainshaft or slipper shaft have contacted rc champ but unfortunately they do not sell it anymore and vie had no luck on fleabay either!
#1019
You don't find many Five Stars upgrade parts for sale outside of Japan. The DF03 mainshafts (FS7038 and FS7039) are hard to obtain at the best of times. Good luck with your search. Took me about a year to find someone selling one.
