Well I know you didn't try to make it lighter, I had to add almost 30g to make mine legal last points race.

Hope that helps,

Why is it necessary to have different front pivot ball mounts when we can change toe out by adjusting the steering turnbuckles?

The thing was just plain GLUED to the carpet. I pretty much ran Tim Stamper's carpet setup, and it was just on. It looks like they forgot to mention that you get the "Better Driver" kit with the BMI chassis kit! 'Cause I'm normally a pinball bouncing off the boards, and last night I barely even hit a corner flapper!

This thing was just effortless to drive. I was coming from a Pro4, and it was night and day the difference in how hard I had to work to keep the car on the track.

So thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. Many of the suggestions and reccomendations here made this build go much smoother, and the setup information made available made my very first lap one of the most enjoyable RC experiences of my life.

Awesome car, awesome community!

But don't everyone go out and buy one - I like having obscure cars!!
Thanks for the props on the setup. It was tough since I was the only one at the gate with a cyclone and the track was bumpy but grippy.

The car is a dream to drive and I now have 3 setups that I can use depending on track conditions. BMI did a great job on this kit and it makes the car a different animal on the track.

If anyone has a question on the setup that I posted in the BMI thread, ask. I played around a bunch and the car reacts to the littlest adjustment.

Maybe with more practice and better luck, I can put up good results instead of just having a well handling car that can't finish a race.

Thanks,

Tim

Hey guys, just picked up my Surikarn Edition Cyclone. I will be racing Mod/rubber tyre/ashphalt! What parts, upgrades, etc should i buy, and is there anything in the build process i should pay particular attention to or do in a certain way?? I've switched from a T2 for something different lol

Regards
Nick

Another set-up for those running with the BMI conversion on high-bite carpet.

Very stable and too easy to drive. Don't fall asleep at the wheel with this one.

Thanks to Jason B of BMI for the awesome product and also to him and schreff for the set-up refinement on this one.

Im thinking of selling my surikarn (car only I plan to get another one next spring)

What are used surikarns really worth?

A little info...

The car was ran mostly rubber tire asphalt so it has the normal wear on the bottom. It would need a new top deck, but other than that it just has a some scratches from use.

Mr. Visa card needs some love lol.

Would this kind of track be better for a spool or oneway?
Its an outdoor asphalt track with medium bite. Thanks
