okay,so whats an mg66x look like? what were the big changes?

not much, the head is drilled to cut weight, it was a birth day present you may say as the new head started at its first year anniversary of its release, all internals etc are still the same.

That's the truth,I have a mg66 and go 2072 pipe all brand new in the for sale section. I was asked why I was selling? Got 3 mg's,3pipes and 5 more go engines and 5 more pipes. My gxr 3port is going to racer22 for a mod.So I will use the mg and my 3 ports most of the time. Maybe throw a 7 port that I ported into the buggy every once in a while. But the mg last's along timmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! 7 gallons so far only replaced rod and one osp3 glow plug.

that and I use the massive mods run in oil for the first 2 tanks. and heat it up for at least the first gallon. I was a little apprehensive about the run in oil. but the first go I ever ran in I did not use and it went down hill 5 gallons. So it works. that and all the info about break in with these engines. It's my opinion you need to develop a lot of patients at break in. also learning head shimming and needle settings helps.

If your trying to piece it into a gxr case you will need the crank also. Actually if you have a gxr engine buy the mg-66 crank and put it in,you will notice a difference. I'm not 100% pos. that the mg sleeve set will work in a gxr case. I thought I read where they would. I am sure some one with more experience will help here. Also on ebay there is a used one[whole engine for 125.00] it's from mike the owner of answer usa and my sponsor. So I would imagine he's not posting crap. Hell ask him if it comes with the extra's as you will need to do the rod and I would do a rear bearing at least. seal it up and drive it.

If your going to drop the MG66 PRS into a GX, you will need the MG crank to make it worth your while. By the time you have sourced both of those it's probably only a few dollars more to buy a new MG anyway.
The MG crank is a nice addition to the GX motors for a little more zip, particularly at the top end.
Unmodded, the difference between the standard GX motor and the standard MG motor is substantial.
