Odd, I just found after building my kit, that all the link balls (side bars and rear pod ball), that take a 3x5mm screw, won't do up tight on the carbon plate, they are loose on the chassis etc.
I found you need a .2-.5mm shim to get them tight, otherwise they just spin in place, kind of suspect it's because they went from a 2.5mm to a 2mm chassis?, I'm thinking, or hoping the shims won't effect anything drastically, my rear pod also now sits a tiny bit lower than the chassis because of the shim I fit there, but guessing from previous posts it's not a big deal?

or try a bag of the 12R5 pivot balls. their 3mm hex doesn't bottom the screw, you just lose engagement but there is still plenty. also the AE balls are teflon coated aluminum, lighter smoother but plenty strong.

And the issue with the center pivot is also solved as the ae balls are slightly lower. They improve the handling as well!

If so I'll buy some, saves me grinding down screws, I need some bits from AMain anyway, was a tiny bit ham fisted during my build, and still need other parts for it anyway.
Actually the screws I needed to grind, I had to buy some more of anyway, I dropped one while figuring out why they had so much play, as luck would have it, can't find it, and nothing else RC I own uses a 3x5mm screw.

I just recently purchased the S120 LXT and want to replace the stock shock with the IRS VCS Micro and was wondering if will fit. Thanks.

Not a fan of the stock shock myself, but it is much shorter than most shocks, so fitting something like the IRS shock is possible but difficult. you have to use really short ballcups and be sure the shock doesn't bottom out.

None that I know is a sure fit. Don't be discouraged from trial fitting the IRS, though I think CRC's newer shock is a better design.

the serpent shock is fine, its the monochrome springs that i don't care for. the silva and cyclone shocks are a little long but you can just cut the shaft to length. the irs shock is short to start with and might fit nicely with little or no ball cup trimming.

CRC plastic is garbage, and IMO, so is their shock.
The hotbodies 1/12 shock is nice and will fit this car, and it comes long so you can cut it to the length you want. It's a little like the silva shock, which is also nice.
