day at the track crystal park
Verano's car looked very good at Crystal Park today. Congrats on the win. I drove my 960 yesterday, me being a novice driver the car is easy to drive. I am glad I made the switch. You cant go wrong with the 960 it's a good car

Help wanted
Hi
I'm hard @ work with building my 960.
Sofar i have two questions relating the build of this great car.
1. How much rebound of the shocks is ok? The ones i have build rebound al the way back, is this ok?
2. There are four white (plastic) spacers deliverd in the package for building the oneway diff, on the drawing in step one of the cad drawing you can see that there is one spacer used on each side.
So now im in doubt if i have to use 2 or 4 spacers.
Can anybody help me out?
Thanks in advance,
With kindest regards.
Ferdi

Put in as many spacers as needed to give your front driveshafts as less "play" as needed......
a narrow front trackwidth, needs less or no spacers
a wide front trackwidth, needs more or all spacers.....
Be carefull, that they don't bind with steering......
Snap je me?, anders moet je me maar even een pm sturen
is dit je eerste 1/8 auto, want met de 950(R) en de Vector is het ook........

Tips on building the new RCC shocks from Serpent
Shocks: The proper way to fill the shock is: Fill the shock with oil until the third spire of the thread (inside thread in the alu shock). Insert the piston with the shaft all the way up. Screw in the piston assembly (1.5 turns) Slowly and progressively start pressing the piston until reach half travel (excess oil and air will leak). With the piston at half travel, screw all the way in the shock in order to seal it (by the way, we use a 9mm tool to tighten it) After this you need to check if there is no air. The shock is ok when after compressed, has a half travel rebound.
Paolo gave this tip and it works perfect.....more to come later for the 960...

Thanks for all the tips you guys!
But now that i have the shocks finished they all have different lengths.
They should be, for front shocks 68mm and for rear shocks 73mm.
The shocks i have are: front shocks 67.40mm and 67.28mm. The rear shocks are 72.10mm and 71.81mm. Alle meassured fully extended.
Is anybody else having the same problem, is this a bad tollerance for the end build of the car?
Again thanks in advance.
with kindest regards.
Sincerely Ferdi

best serpent 1/8 scale
I have been a Serpent owner since 1999 and have built and or drove them all. I must say that the 960 is the best serpent car I have ever owned. The car handled very well right out of the box using the standard set-up. I'm quite confident that I will be able to take my driving skills to the next level using the 960.

This sounds like you may have screwed on the shocks ends too far and one may be more than the other. Bring the shock ends out (unscrew) slightly to make for proper length.

Hi and thank for your reply!
The problem is that the 960 shocks are factory pre build.
So the lenght is fixed.
Thanks again
