Well there is a new Holiday Inn Express opening mid December which is quite close but I wouldn't want to walk back and forth to it. People will say its across the street but more like across the highway and neither place sits right on the highway so a car or a ride would be a plus. Since its so close maybe they'll hook up some sort of shuttle? Don't know for sure on that. That would be the preferred place then there is a LaQuinta Inn that racers have stayed at in the past which is about a 5 min drive... then a couple others not too much farther. It isn't up yet but I'm sure a flyer will be up soon on www.hobbyplexraceway.com which will give some options. I'd think ROAR would have something up also once the flyer is complete.

Just tell me the 5th scale nats are on the east coast so I can finagle going to F1 Worlds in Cali (RCPro is the sponsor since IFMAR dropped F1)

I'd be all for it since it's the closest track to me capable of running 5th scale...

Default 2008 Asphalt Nationals

I just got off the phone with Dawn Sanchez. And I am very pleased to announce the following;

The 2008 ROAR ON-ROAD ASPHALT NATIONALS will be held at
RC HOBBIES RACEWAY, in Jonesboro Arkansas.

The dates are yet to be decided.

I would like to thank all who voted, or in some way helped to make this happen. I will put great effort into making this event one to be remembered for all who attend.

Full info will be announced soon. To view the facility, visit,

We have FINALLY been able to select and notify the host tracks for the 2008 ROAR Nationals. Dates are being worked on right now.

I have phoned each track to request and verify from their bid the dates they selected and will be able to confirm those in a day or so. Below are the selected host tracks.

ROAR thanks the class committees for their efforts and exceptional advice in their recommendations. All nationals were specifically selected based on recommendations from the hard working class committee's. The evaluation process is very time consuming and diffcult as this year, there were more bids for each event than in past years and so many items had to be considered.

We do apologize for the long wait (13 days longer than typically done and previously announced) and hope it was worth the wait for each of you.

Dawn

There are 10 nationals to schedule without conflicts... working on it with each of the track owners...

RC Hobbies has requested October 15-19 as first choice and May 14-18 as second choice... working on it.
