What's that between the ESC & motor, with the loop/hole?? No hex? seriously, Tamiya & HPI need to sell their screws for scrap metal and get with the times.

LOL me too. They last forever. I left one in the garage this winter, -25 C, thawed it out and it still works great.

The screws are the JIS pattern used in Japan. It has a slightly different head profile which gets damaged by US/European Phillips screwdrivers.
If you can find the right JIS screwdrivers then building these kits is not a problem. A tap helps to pre-thread the holes in the plastics.
You can tell the JIS pattern by the single dot on the screw head.

I still do not like the angle at which the rocker arms are positioned. Seems like are directing the force in an inefficient way. Should have been like this:

Angled rocker arms will be a Tamiya hop up.

Offtopic but...what electrics are in the pics, are Tamiya rebranding some Speed passion stuff now (as they've done with lrp before) or do the pics just happen to have that stuff in?
Loving the design of the car, no idea if it will be any good, but sooo Tamiya!!

The car is pictured with Tamiya's own sensored brushless ESC, TBLE-01S. As far as I am aware it is not a rebadge.
