Questions?? hitec servos stoped working

has anybody had servos stop working due to forgetting to turn off the RX? I bought my buggy used , while inthe process of engine brake in (new engine), after my first tank the throttle servo(Hitec HS-5625MG) stopped working or I should say-it opened the throttle very slooooowly and would not apply the brake at all. Went out & got an HS-5645MG to replace it, it worked ok 'til today- I ran about 1/2 a tank thru it @ lunch time, I realized that I had left the Rx on about 20 min later, turned it off, later on I wanted to burn the remaining fuel so I turn TX & RX on... WTF... no throttle again!! you would think the batt would run down instead... I'm baffled, does anybody know what's up

depends if u turned off the radio and left the reciever on...and the car went into like fail safe which applied the brakes continously then yeah it will burn up the motor in the servo..

it only affected the throttle, the steering was ok. I even swapped the steering servo into the thrttl cavity- it worked ok when the trigger was squeezed. I do have a fail safe for when the TX is turned off, damn,I guess it's part of the learning curve!! the HS-5645MG is still under warranty, do you think will honor it ? I got it about 3 wks ago.

Thats because in fail safe mode the steering servo goes to center and has no load on it. Where as the throttle /break servo goes to full break having full load on it.
I burned up a brand new 7955tg in my truggy because of leaving the receiver on and turning the radio off putting it into failsafe. Took less than 5 minutes to put a nice burned hole through the bottom of it. The only person I could blaim was myself.
As far as them warranting it Your the one that caused the failure not there product. So I don't believe they would unless you lied. Surely you wouldn't do that?

Now I know that I caused the problem, but for $55 a little white lie won't hurt how reasonable are the guys @ Hitec as far as repairs go? would I be better off buying a new servo?

Hitec WILL NOT charge you for anything...more then likely they will replace it no question's asked....if they can fix it they will....but Dont worry...You will NOT get a bill in the mail....If you Do for some Strange ridiculous reason...bring it to a Hitec Rep's attention Immediately and they Will make it right.

There was once a story of 2 Ti geared servo's and A Dog involved....im sure you can see where im goin.....well...guess who got new servo's in the end.

Hey don't feel bad I did that at a race with two different cars , and Hitec replaced both of them and one wasn't even under warranty. It worked out fine because I still had 4 other Hitec servo's in the bag. And remember tell them what happened not how.
