hey guys
Raced indoors for the first time today, normally race outdoor. I realised that on carpet your speed dont nessesarily come from your gearing and that but more in terms of how much traction your getting.
I was useing sorex20s and the track was pretty technical about 14second laps racein stock.
anyone got any starting point for a setup?
thanks a million

Larry and Vic- you will not notice a difference between the 90 and 96 tooth spurs. The reason for having both is not because one will perform better than the other assuming the same FDR, it's so you have the option of running a larger pinion with the smaller spur if the need arrises. In your cases, the only factor you need to consider is how far out you want the motor to sit. Obviously witht teh smaller spur the motor will be closer to the center of the car and this can help you to balance the car better.

i'm looking for setup tips for a outdoot asphalt track with pretty long straights but some fast tight infield as well. its not problem with speed or acceleration. The only way for me to get through the tight corners is to back way off the power, and drive around off power before accelerating out.

traction is a problem I can, but i've jsut bought so new foam tires and I can't afford to buy any others.

Hey Jason, do you think that the Tamiya Track will be crowded this weekend? Or, will we be able to even go there to practice? Are you going to go if it is open, or do you have stuff to do? "ut o"?

copper fronts/gold rears
50wt all around
shocks all way outter holes
A/A and A/B blocks flat on chassis
4 droop front and 5 droop rear using assoc. gauge
5mm rideheight
sorex 32R's med inserts
0toe front, -1 camber all around.
yellow front/ red rear sway...
we just blew the track so I had to change the setup in a hurry.
before, I had yellow rear sway and assoc. red rear springs...turned too much for my ability.

thanx heaps, i'm re-setting my car now and I'll see how I go. I've only got 70wt oil left atm, will changing it to 50wt make HUGE difference?
also, with your shocks, can you translate that into Tamiya speak or in relevance to each other?

fresh new 1.17 fuku cells to replace my old 1.14 crappy old panasonic
aliminium gearboxs knuckles and centre posts
fresh tires
a burning desire to win
ive decided im going for one last ride, the past 6 races ive had ive gone home pretty full of 'un-fun' so im just going to put everything into it. if nothing changes then im either going to change my class, the series/track, my car ( get a 415? ) .
wish me luck guys
