I got mine at walmart but could not find it on their site. I bought some rechargeable for it and they hardly need charging ever. I have had the big nice and expensive ones but like this one best.

I haven't seen the Ryobi, but don't waste your money on the hitachi. If you're going to get the hitachi go to Walmart and buy a cheap black and decker and save 50 bucks. The hitachi isn't variable speed and without that you can't turn the screws as slow as they need to be turned. When you look for a driver, make sure you get a clutch, variable speed, lithium, keyless chuck, and the appropriate size.

I use the Bosch, it's a little pricey but it has all the key features needed, comes with a case, charger, and two lithium batteries. One battery will more than build a kit and will last for weeks if you are just maintaining your vehicle. With the extra battery there isn't a need for 12v charging.

I got it when i was a car audio installer
it comes with 2 battery's and they last ages

I've been using the Hitachi for a while now and I've yet to strip or cause any damage to any of my vehicles. Nearly all of my use is un/screwing in plastic parts. I've found on even plastic parts where slightly larger screws are used, using the lowest clutch setting works without ever stripping anything.

One thing I do wish they'd make is a clutch system that has a independent setting for either direction.

Thats what I use to, it's very good. Use it all day in my job as a car mekanic and all wekend in RC racing. The clutch system can be set to stop where you want it.

No it isn't, it's low and high speed. Several people at my track have that one, to me it's an over priced black and decker. For the price it should have variable speed.

With out question the Hitachi is my pick, i've been using mine for about 2 or 3 years with out a problem. I think rc-car magazine did a test on it and got really good write up on it. I paid $80 buck for mine a few years ago. I would hate to think i had to work on my car with out it.
