The Pantoura will still be plenty competetive in the 4 cell 200mm class. it does lack some of the front end adjustability that the Gen-X 10 has, however you can sufficiently tune the track width using shims on the front axles. The pantoura also came with the small vcs center shock, which works well on smooth tracks, and is easy enough to upgrade if need be.

Thanks if I can close on it I could definitely use help. Can you tune the Pantoura similar to the GenX10?

tallyrc, for now I've been running some at Sugarhill, just practice. We have a new huge carpet track going in right now in Marietta, which is just north of Atlanta. The guys from Nexus Racing have moved into a new shop this weekend and will have a real nice track soon for us to enjoy.

yes, setting up the rear end is almost exactly the same. you'll want to use slightly thinner lube in the damper tubes as the Pantoura tubes are longer than the GX10 tubes.
The front end that came with the car is the associated dynamic strut. Pretty much anyone who's ever run a pan car should know how to tune that front end because it's been around forever. Parts and setup advise are usually pretty easy to find. If you wanted to get more on the same page with the Gen-X 10 guys, the CRC Pro-Strut front end will bolt right up on the Pantoura and is a good option because it is easier to get more steering out of it. These cars, with the big rear tires and long wheelbase, tend to push alot more than a 12th car, and gaining enough steering is usually the key to fast laps.
It will be a little difficult fitting a brushless motor into the rear pod of the pantoura. you will definately have to take the top plate off, and possibly loosen the left pod plate, however the beauty of it is that you won't have to constantly take it in and out like a brushed motor, so it will be fine.

Hi guys,
I have been reading this post carefully.
I'm from Belgium and some 15 years ago i was racing pan cars too (235mm).
I am very glad to see the class is coming back !
Here in Belgium i would love to start with this class again.
I am planning to buy a 200mm (since the 235mm is only made by Corally) but am hesitating between the BMI DB10R, CRC Gen X and Team Associated 10R5.
Thanks for all the help !
Greetings,
Christoph

I'll be visiting a new track tomorrow that appears that there are some pan cars running at this track and a guy testing for AE said it will kick off after.
