Well, after very very close inspection of the X12 I can say it is longer stroke than the NS12. When I first compared the two it was by eye, when comparing the two with instruments the ports on the X12 and NS are in different positions and the crank pin is higher on the Mugen motor.

I ran a 6 gallon old NS12. I got home and took it apart and it seems ok, I just had way too much head clearance. Two thick silver shims. Oh well, that won't happen again. Not sure what motors Nick was running. I think Sirio's and Picco's, which I am getting as far away from as I can.

Hopefully both.
Also, the Picco's require some skillz to tune them
Nick's Picco at the Winternats was ballistic though.

The price for Sirio's just went up by about $50.00, with no improvements in the engine. With the con rod issue in the Sirio's and Picco's it's just not worth taking a chance of them breaking during the middle of a race. I will still mod the engines upon special request because they are very fast one race engines, but I will not sell a lot of them.
