I've built the shock as per the instructions and only race the car twice and the shocks are leaking , now I've owned a 415 so the TFR shocks are what I consider tha best in the bunsiness. I love my FT TC4 and I'm willing to tuff it out with upgrades.

1.Aluminum shock caps $12.00
2.Hard shock bodies $20.00 2 each
3.unobtainum shafts $12.00 2 each

or

1.TRF shocks $65.00
2.Yokomo shock retainers so I can use TC4 springs

Just buy Yokomo part# YS-8D Yokomo bladder shock caps and you are done. If you want some extra tuning parts buy some Rayspeed bladders for your shocks. Buy the "Hard Anodozed" shock bodies when you are looking for some "bling". The blue shock bodies work fine. Don't forget to take the volume compensating foam off of the bobbin when you put the bladder caps on.

I run the best shocker in the business on my FT TC4 which is the Tamiya shocker and all iv done is add the BOTTOM of the TC4 shocker to give it little bit more length.This also lets me use standard associated springs.

Got a question(probably one of many before I'm thru).Just starting to build my FTTC4,the instructions call for the X-3.0 block,The problem is the one in the kit is the X-2.5.Anyone know if this is a mistake or a running change?Thanks.

Was looking for those also. Will end just end up with the Yokomo Graphite Shaft for the TC4! At least its color blue.

The TRF kits come with new ball studs that fit the TRF ends. The screw threads are just a bit larger than the stock TC4 parts. However, I have installed them with just a bit of extra effort with no ill effects (like cracked suspension arms ;-). Once you install these ball studs, you likely cannot go back to the stock ball studs without replacing the suspension arms and shock towers (since the holes are now enlarged). So long as you are committed to the TRF shocks, though, this seems to work just fine.
