Default Average Run Time

I'm breaking my engine in and it seemsl like I only get 5 minutes of a 75mm tank. Maybe it is just really rich for the break-in? So what run times do you guys get???

Five minutes is fine when you're breaking it in.

5-8 minutes is the norm when you're racing.

We're getting upwards of 20 minutes right now with the weather the way it is at an indoor race with the doors open to the outsides. Normally between 7-10 minutes is nomal on a broken in engine. You want it running rich for the break in so 5 minutes should be pretty close.

And yes, 20 minutes on a 1/8th scale buggy. 25-27minutes on a Revo. All that with stock gearing and the Revo has the stock engine in it.

ok 20 minutes u said wow buts its definetly with all stock right?, dam i wish im jelous the only thing i did is improve my battery power lol so i can atleast run for 4 to 6 hrs without changing the batery got that acomplished with team heoletes batteries they rule otherwise i was only running about 1 to 2hrs ,but 20 minutes racing or bashing for me on 1 tank i would have to choke the chit out of the engine im jelous

You're correct, your runtime is hurting because you are running so rich. You might consider leaning it out some. Most of the engine experts out there are big believers in heat cycling. Plus you'll waste less fuel on break in.
Do you have a temp guage? As long as you're seeing white smoke, you're probably Ok.

i agree with david get a temp gauge cause when i was breaking in my engine i could not even get the temp up to 180 barelly had to lean it out and do it all over again like david said to get the heat cycling going
