Yup, just ordered both versions. Put the 1.6 on in the beginning of the race day, then maybe change to the 2.0 after the 2nd qualifier (after the traction comes up a bit). See how it goes. According to RCMaker there should be no issues with any combination of the Spur/Pinion

Yes. with this top deck you won't have any issues with gearing combinations.

Whenever I see aftermarket top decks and chassis, my thought process goes: "Damn, Xray spent 20+ iterations of each with testing in between, just to have someone else crap out a top deck / chassis out of thin air.".

I noticed with the Awesomatix that the RC maker decks break a lot easier than a stock one I've done 3 "flex decks" on my a800 and in 5 yrs have never broken a std (pre mid mount) top deck and only once cracked a mid mount top deck. To be expected when any force has to go along a single line of CF rather than being split between 2

How do you know that those who have 'crapped out stuff from thin air' havent tested a few designs and iterations to get ideas right?

I would say the mid motor car is better all around. My mid motor is faster than the my 19. Seems to turn better

I just built my '20 and had to really tighten the rear belt to keep it from hitting the motor mount. I would normally run the rear belt much looser. I am wondering if the drag from a tight belt will be better or worse then the drag from the belt hitting the motor mount. What do you think?

I left the front belt loose, but should I tighten it up to match the rear belt or not?

Thanks!

There was much discussion on this point (rear belt contacting the motor mount) when the kit first came out. My understanding is that because the contact occurs on the slack side, there is little consequence. I remember someone mentioning that they had quite a few packs through the car and the logos were still intact. I'm thinking if there was any significant friction, the logos would have been rubbed off.
