After tracking back through this thread I have found what I want. It is Yokomo part "SP-4608S RC12R5.1 Wheel Hub/Diff Thrust Corn Set (for SP-1210 Wheel)"

I'm having difficulty finding an online shop I can buy it from though. I'm not very good at reading Japanese. Does anyone know where I can buy this part?

Daniel,

Paul(CRC) had some CRC donuts with him at the first round of the 2WDrivers series

Yeah, thanks Michael that's one option. I somehow doubt the supply will always be good for those though. He told me he only got them in for a team driver who wanted them, and then that they weren't good outside the pro-cut diameter range. So, if I get them it's a choice between cutting off the outside mm of the rim of pro cuts, or truing a heap off a donut.

went to buy my 1st sets of tires for my new 5.1 and noticed on mountin 1st pr (parma) that the inside touches the lower pod plate. i have axle shimmed as per instructions (2L and 2R), thats all thats included in package. tried another pr same result. tried a crc just about the same. flipped the hub but that screws up my track from center on each side. more shims (made LHS order em) or another issue? help thx.

Don't know what to suggest. I only use one shim on the left side and none on the diff side. Been using CRC yellows and low greys all season cut down to 44mm.

Measure the rear track width and make it 172mm. Then measure from the center to the inside of each wheel. Now just move the shims around to make each wheel centered. If the track width is a little uner 172mm thats ok. Just make sure it is between 171-172mm.

Don't go by the manual. Make sure the ride height adjusters are seated really good.

Agree with Steve. I run Parms/Jaco wheels and use three BMI axle spacers (0.020" thick) each side. That gives me 171.9mm width and correct spacing either side of centre. The left-side hub is fitted as per the instructions.

Every wheel seems to have a slightly different offset, so when you change from (say) Jaco/Parma to (say) CRC, always check your width. I recommend the BMI spacers because they are 0.5mm (effectively) so it is real easy to make a change. When I go from Parma/Jaco to Xceed, the offset means the car goes up in width 2mm. Simply take two spacers out from each side and I am back to 171-172mm. HTH

I used the carbon spacers from Fibre Lyte that go between the rim and the hub to get the correct spacing for differant off set rims. I usually set the hubs to get maximum width with standard rims, and then use the carbon spacers to get the correct width with of off set rims (like GRP for example) without the hassle of changing the axle spacers during a race meeting. Cheers!

Any word if Associated is working on a kit with a longitudinal battery placement? I saw some pics from a race with modified 12r5s but I don't know if those are prototypes or just some creative race mods by the drivers.

A few of us have done the mods ourselves (pictures roam throughout the threads). Kevin H has I believe posted that they are testing AE's version as well. Stay tuned to RC10.com, and this thread for future updates as I'm sure they will all keep us posted.

i ended up 'massaging' the lower pod removing just over 1.5mm of carbon on the non drive side edge and now i have good clearance.

drove a few practice runs today and i was pleased, wished the car had 1 ovalized servo hole to move side to side. think i'm quite far out on the tierods to point where i want some piece of mind and snap up some slightly longer units (damn i just sold all my b4 stuff).

boy do i need a truer, dont like leanin on others, but its been a while for me and foam.

any1 still 'not' trim rear wheel wells out ala some of those old Lola prototypes from the 80s/early 90s?

No. You don't want to do that. My quess is that the wheels are now not equal distance from center or you are not at 172mm.
