I don't know about that, RJ and I ran Solaris rims with NTC3 tires and X-Patterns 3 years ago as well as last year at the Southern Nats (and you know how that turned out ).

Looks like plenty of design options that I can find, only problem is all 0 offest which will eventually kill all the 200mm bodies

Hopefully manufacturers will pick up the HPI Cup Racer hex design so folks can customize their own offset to suit their needs:

Thanks for the links to the 24mm wheels, folks. Sadly, none look anywhere near as realistic as so many 26mm wheels out there. I hate to say it, but the realism is what drew me to USGT in the first place and now a major attraction of the class is going away with this new tire size. Yes, I know local races can legalize whatever they want, but I try to adhere to the national rule set in whatever class I race.

I won't harp on this any longer, but I'm very disappointed that 26mm tires (spec or not) will not be allowed in USGT.

Tommy,

These 26mm RIDE tires often come back in stock here, I think they just went out of stock yesterday:
http://www.rcmart.com/ride-26mm-radi...6-p-35324.html

I'm pretty sure that Mark just started testing them a couple weeks ago locally and he's been equally as happy as I have been with the 24mm RIDE tires I've been testing.

I don't think the rules these USGT guys keep changing really matter to us locally. At the end of the day it's up to Chris and Tim to make the final call for our local club rules.

Bill, the new USGT spec tire is only available as a 24mm tire, not 26mm. Someone mentioned this earlier when I asked.

As I said earlier, I realize we can do what we want locally. But I don't only race locally. I race at other tracks and that's why I prefer to be legal per the national rules.

Is it just a little or is it really a performance issue? Is it too square?

I guess we will have to bring our unicorns to make sure we can get through tec. Although I really like the extra zip I get from the quadracorn juice.

Yes they were looked at the performance of the tires were not matched by X patterns or the Ride tires. The wear was considerably higher than what we would have liked for a spec tire.

Its very hard to please everyone and we know that. When we tested all of the tires on the market we went with what was the most economical along with the best performance.

Again this rule is for the national rule set your local track can adapt them for local racers as they see fit.

They are very squared on the edges its makes the tires unpredictable.

Rob is working on tech gauges as we speak for Unicorn Juice.
