You are right that the quality of the kit is outstanding. Who gives a crap about the some photos on the website? I'm not paying for photos I'm paying for the quality of the kit. For what it's worth there isn't anything wrong with the photos whatsoever
love my new 988, question time..whats the best route for the wire from the battery pack? everything seems like a tight fit.

Yes it's quite tight but I route the battery wire behind the fuel tank and into the Rx box. Then use a sanwa servo extension wire as per the manual.

Have a new chassis available for sale. I have robbed some parts from it, but have replaced them. So it is a complete chassis with shocks and a clutch, same as if you bought it and just opened the box. $610 is the price. Send PM if interested.

Well, FWIW, Serpent seems to have their cars listed on the home page by order of release (with the most recent on top), and the 988 is literally the last car on that list... Then again, the latest 3 cars on that list have been released two weeks apart since early July. There’s also the impending release of the new SRX-2 Gen 3, and now this. Serpent has been on quite a tear updating their lineup this year.

Given that it has only gone up a single digit, I would venture that a) it’s probably just a few minor updates as they prepare for this year’s Regional championships (ROAR’s is next month I think) and head into the Worlds next year, and b) something that 988 owners will probably be able to update to fairly easily.

The 989 will be available in the Americas in October. I think people going to the WC will have priority in obtaining this chassis.
